Review of WLCI – Graphic Designers

Working like a magician with images and words to design elements that are visually appealing; a graphic designer is clearly one who weaves magic with his/ her creative expertise. The visuals, created by using photos, paintings, digital media as also image editing software, are for different mediums like brochures, logos, advertisements, and websites.

Graphic design degrees can be earned at design schools and one of the best ones in India is WLCI that has six campuses across the country.

The design industry is a growing one and talented designers are most sought after. A few areas where opportunities lie are:

  • Graphic Design firms-
It is one of the most common places where a graphic designer gets to exercise his/ her creative skills on a variety of projects.

  • Advertising agencies-
These agencies have several graphic designers on staff for how else would they come up with such innovative visuals to match the catchy phrases.

  • Freelance designer-
If you want to remain your own master or mistress, you can do so as a self-employed individual, working for yourself. One of the advantages is that you would have the freedom to pick and choose projects, while a disadvantage would be that as a freelancer, you would also have to get your own clients.

  • Different Industries-
Designers are also employed by newspapers, magazine houses, publishing companies, websites, museums and restaurants to work on dynamic ads to catch customer attention.
Salaries can vary greatly, depending on various factors and a more talented one would naturally command more money.
