Is WLCI encouraging you for a career in ‘Animation’?

Remember the cute panda who loved martial arts or the enchanting setting of Narnia? The award-winning movies of Kung Fu Panda, The Chronicles of Narnia, Bolt, Ice Age and Monsters vs Aliens or Chhota Bheem, My Friend Ganesha, which are closer to home, these are all examples of animation. This industry is seeing unprecedented boom here in India now. This field is for those who want to create magic by breathing life into cartoon characters with the aid of various computer-based techniques.

If you are bubbling with creativity, then this is just the career for you. To become a good animator, you need a lot of zeal and imagination. You must know to draw and sketch as well. A few more essential skills would be:

  • Good visualisation skills
  • Flair for using colours
  • Original, innovative ideas
  • An eye for detail and observation skills
  • Good communication skills to relay your ideas to others
  • Knowledge of the latest computer techniques
  • Patience, hard work and dedication
  • Since animation involves multitasking, you will have to work as a team and so you must be a team player as well.

Multimedia courses are offered at many places. The WLCI Advertising & Graphic Design Program is designed to train students to face real-world challenges in the design industry.
