How Wigan & Leigh India Student Work

A student, from WLCI Bangalore campus recently shared his work on Packaging with us. Presenting the work of Shrikant Garg. He is currently pursuing a course in visual communications.

The students at Bangalore were asked to create packaging using the typeface – “Taxi”. This was done to enhance their creativity and imagination. This task involved 2 of the most highly valued skills of a designer, that is – Typography and Package Design.

The use of letters to form a design is known as Typography. An expert in this area can go a long way in their design career as fonts are known to have significant impact on the readers. Fonts are the silent mood makers for your user, they can be silly or elegant, refined or casual depending on the message you wish to deliver.

Using this art in Package Designing can help promote a message to the end user and build relations for the future. These attributes are highly appreciated in the field of advertising and marketing. Hence, WLCI encourages the students to engage in the same to broaden their horizon.

WLCI Reviews on Spiderwick Chronicles Collection

wlci feedback
WLCI Fashion School takes a look at the Spiderwick Chronicle style collection of garments presented by the Fashion student Sherin Thomas, of Mumbai WLCI Fashion School.

Many of you who have already viewed the movie -Spiderwick Chronicle, need no introduction to the characters of the story-fairies, battle goblins, trolls, shape shifting-ogre’s and other magical creatures. Well taking cue from the plot, Sherin has created her final collection for the fashion show. She has drawn inspiration from the magical and fantastical world and created her garments embodying the characteristics of the same. Yarns of fabric having the shimmer and shine of the incandescent wings of fairies or having a burst of color of the mysterious pixies are depicted in Sherin’s innovative fashion display.

All of this comes alive in Sherin’s stylized garments and creates a world of super fantasy. The mood of the collection is just that -‘Fantasy’. Sherin presents in front of her audience- gowns, dresses, trousers and shorts for her haute couture. The base colors used by the designer are –Blue, purple and pink. Sherin has spent a lot of time in fabrication and texturing of her collection, which painstakingly required her to do minute surface-ornamentation all over the fabric, resulting in a look which was beyond beautiful, it was almost ethereal!

Sherin Thomas is a high-achiever from WLCI Fashion School, Mumbai. WLCI is one of the premier Fashion Schools in the country. Those who have an eye for style and detail; fashion, trend, creativity and a deep passion for fabric, colors, styling or designing should choose their profession in the Fashion Industry. Feedback by WLCI on Drones

wlci feedback

The secret weapon for photographers is here. It is the 'Flying Drones'!

They are being customized to take pictures where the paparazzi cannot reach. Especially with celebrity outings this technology has had far-reaching consequences, where the human element is virtually eliminated and now the cover-shot are being taken by flying-drones. These have not been commercialized yet, but with possibilities are huge and 'sky' is literally the limit for these drones!
