Amitabh Bachchan – Style Icon and Emperor of Bollywood.
He truly revolutionized Indian Cinema and today WLC College
celebrates this prodigy. Born in Allahabad in the house of a renowned poet Mr.
Harivansh Rai Bachchan, he belonged to a Punjabi Sikh family.
Amitabh literally means “the light that will never die”.
He made his debut in the film fraternity as a voice narrator
back in 1969 with Bhuvan Shome a
National Award Winning movie. Amitabh’s work in the movie Zanjeer, released in
1973, got him the title - Angry Young
Man. His dominance during the 1970’s and 80’s awarded him the title - One Man
Industry by French director François Truffaut.
